Steps to make Pork steak (Bistek tagalog):
  1. Heat the oil in a pan.
  2. Pan-fry both sides of the pork chop for 5 mins. or until medium brown.
  3. Remove excess oil. Pour-in the remaining marinade sauce and water and let it boil. Cover and simmer for 40mins. or until the pork becomes tender. Add more water if needed.
  4. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Put-in the onion rings and cook for 3mins more.
  6. Turn-off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.

Perfect when you're ravenous at lunch. Bistek Tagalog is honestly as simple as it gets. First heat up your pan and add oil, sautée your onion rings until caramelized and set it aside. Using the same pan with bits of your caramelized onion, add more oil and fry pork until it is brown and add the remaining marinade and some water. Let it cook in medium-low heat until the meat is tender.
